A California Appellate Court has not only rejected an appeal by Arnold and Elizabeth McMahon (owners of the AHRC web site), they levied sanctions against them and their attorney (AHRC favorite Philip Putnam) for the frivolous appeal.

The court was unanimous in its opinion and pretty harsh in their language about the mis-use of the appeal process. If you like reading court opinions, here it is in Word Doc format

Jan Jackson, after failing to get her association to conform to her narrow thoughts, then losing in court for libeling/slandering some of her neighbors - continues on her merry way by accusing CAI of being afraid of AHRC and trying to shut it down. As usual she stretches way beyond common sense, or the truth - a law firm may be taking the domain as part of a court decision against the owners. She, of course, offers no evidence that CAI is involved in any way - but that has never stopped Jan from accusing them. She would make most conspiracy theorists proud.

Jan also makes clear that she and the rest of the "advocates" are not interested in improving, or helping - they just want to get rid of all community associations, claiming "millions" will not rest until the job is done. I'm wondering if she walks around with aluminum foil wrapped around her head.

By the way, its AHRC and its stable of "True Believers" that's afraid - that's why they so closely monitor posts to their site - anyone that dares to disagree or sk for evidence gets immediately bashed, or their post removed. So much for First Amendment rights they so dearly love to shout about.

AHRC is whining all over the place about how they might lose their web site. Of course they never explain the actions that led to their losing it - they just imply some vast conspiracy of association professionals, a specific law firm, and everybody who doesn't agree with them, of overthrowing the constitution, destroying free speech and a whole list of terrible things. Of course, the True Believers rise to their support, not knowing the facts (remember, facts aren't necessary to a True Believer) and blast their half-truths and implications to all parts of the internet.

(Note to the McMahon's - owners of AHRC - when your own attorney accuses you of fraud, when the court is so fed up with you that they tell you that you can't start another court action, or appeal an existing one, without the head judge's OK - because you abused the legal system so badly - then you really should start looking in a mirror at the cause of your problems)

....and if you had so much as an ounce of courage, you would tell the True Believers the facts and let them make up their own mind, but of course, you would never, ever tell your supporters the real truth, would you. It's always someone else's fault, right?!

I'm sure, even if the AHRC domain is lost, they'll find somewhere else on the vast internet to post their garbage - after all, their is no bottom to the internet.

This morning we were informed that this site had been hit by a "Denial of Service" attack. Basically this means that someone used a program to send a constant barrage of information requests to the site, so as to prevent or slow down anyone else actually reaching the site. The host is on the case with the intent to prosecute - I don't have to do anything.

I do find it fascinating that AHRC, when it was allegedly the victim of a similar attack quickly implied that CAI was behind it. Does that give me the right to imply that one of the groups or people we write about were behind the attack on our site? Not really, but they're just little enough to be.

The writers at AHRC have been whining for the past week, about the possibility that the AHRC domain may be awarded to a hated law firm to help pay a court-ordered judgment. Let's all say "AAAWWW". If you want to find why, check out the site that gives the other side of the story: http://www.ahrcexposed.com/ .

Of course this has set the self-appointed "advocates" off on one of their rants about First Amendment issues and how the "industry" is trying to take them down. They never mention all of the McMahon's court losses and how they ran up costs and finally got caught trying to transfer assets. God forbid that the McMahon's should ever be in the wrong. That would mean hell had frozen over. So, Jackson and Staropoli, Rice and the usual cast of characters are all weighing in about the potential loss of AHRC and how bad it would be for all of the owners in HOA's around the country, Well, since this group has never produced anything that would have a positive impact on anything, I really don't think they will be missed all that much. Besides, it's apparent that they're working hard to move their bilge to other sites and that they'll find a way to keep spitting out their paranoid crap.

One point to keep in mind - for years the "advocates" have crucified CAI, and any professional that works with associations - with the fact that they don't represent the owners. OK, but to throw it right back in their face, appointing yourself as the voice of owners doesn't make it so. Nobody elected any of these people, nobody gave them a proxy. They got mad at their associations and were first up on the web with the slickest sites. They've never been able to show one piece of independent data that supports any of their claims, instead, they just shout louder and more often.

I need to come up with a name other than "advocates" to call this group - "advocates" implies some sort of reasonable purpose. With this gang, reasonable never enters the conversation. There are so many words that do fit them - idiots, paranoid, obsessive, ranters, hatemongers, bigots, hate-filled, mean, nasty, self-righteous, and I could go on and on. I'll give this some thought, it may end up being a long acronym.

It's hard keeping the web site up-to-date. Not hard in finding stupid things coming out of the sites we refer to, but just hard to find the time to keep up with it. So, a simple blog seems like the best way to handle that. Using this format, when the crazies pull another stunt, which is almost daily, we can comment on it a little quicker.

First, why the site? For most of the whack-jobs, destroying community associations has become a full-time obsession. Most of the people who are happy or even just OK with living in one aren't going to take the time out of their normal lives to deal with these people. Anytime one of the professionals tries, they just get drowned out in cries of "money-grubber". I just got tired of the nasty, cruel, meanness of the people who called themselves "advocates", when in fact they are nothing more than jerks with a keyboard.

Why "True Believers"? Eric Hoffer wrote of those who love to destroy things they can't control. "We all have private ails. The troublemakers are they who need public cures for their private ails." The True Believer takes his or her own personal issues, accuses everyone else of contributing to them, takes a single example and applies it to the world, and then runs to the government to change everything to their way. They're narrow-minded, biased, have no concept of fairness and stoop to the lowest level possible to get their (usually wrong) points across.

Why anonymously? Because from everything I've read of theirs, these are, as I've stated, pretty nasty people with too much time on their hands, and I just don't want to spend the rest of my life responding to them. They can say what they want about that but I really don't care.

Anyhow, welcome to the blog.
